YAKKAY Bicycle Helmets

I will never cease to be amazed and inspired by what is happening in the worlds of fashion and bicycles, and motorcycles, for that matter. Thanks Chris for bring YAKKAY Helmets to my attention, we only need a wide-brimmed Aussie version with corks hanging off it, now.

Still come back to Design Chapel for refreshing inspiration.

Ninja Gaiden

And while we're tripping on the early 90's comic scene, check this mad Ninja Gaiden ad from Tiger Electronics Inc. Rad!

Ghost Rider

I'm gonna get me a BMW K1100RS and turn it into a Ghost Rider bike yeah!

BMW K100RS @ Loud Lightnings!

There's something about these bikes and the way they lurk over the horizon of your consciousness, no special features to make the K stick out in your mind, barely noticing them as just a non-descript late 80's big bike. Ugly engine, ugly fairing. I guess it's what inside that counts. Snapped from Loud Lightnings!

'Seasons' by The Collective

Slash lent me this while I was in Melbourne on the weekend and IT ROCKS! Timeless cinematography, fully sick bicycle action.

Cannonball Run: The Art Series

Day Six, Traralgon to Federation Square, 164kms. Fun in the sun.

Day Five, Orbost to Traralgon, 209kms. Orbost. Pizza and beers in the park. We rolled into this town like the freaking Hells Angels. The locals could not quite comprehend what was going on. Day Four, Eden to Orbost, 185kms.

Grazy German cafe at Genoa.

Brian Love Wagner rode this Peter Bundy a thousand-odd kilometers brakeless. What ratio, Brian?

Lane on the balcony of the Great Southern Inn, Eden.

Brian Love Wagner, telling it how it feels, Day Three, Bodalla to Eden, 150kms. Post barbecue.

Balcony of the Great Southern Inn, Eden. Lady Cop on the balcony, temporary clothesline. Out of shot, the barbecue. Also whales.

Andy White's Ken Evans striking a pose at the Bodalla Arms.

Makatron and the Batemans Bay Bridge. He rode the whole way in a pair of Dunlop Volleys with custom installed SPDs.

Lady Cop chilling by the harbour, Batemans Bay

Male rites of passage. Lycra and bikes, Batemans Bay.

Batemans Bay. After 118 kms from Nowra to the Bay, jumping in the ocean was the ONLY option.

Andy White admiring the scene from the Seaview Bridge, Woollongong. Day One, Sydney to Nowra, 152kms.

The Art Series because these were the only opportunities I got to pull out the crappy old CyberShot outta my bag because the rest of the time my hands were locked onto the handlebars either trying to get up a hill, or down it, or trying to get to the end of the horizon.

Cannonball Run: What it feels like to ride into Melbourne from Sydney upon single speed and fixed gear bicycles

These guys are my heroes. Big ratio fixed gear and single speed bikes, interstate touring, drinking beer and barbecues on the balconies of federation era pubs in little country towns. All style, messenger style.
