If you are down-under on the 5th of November 2011, and have a bike to donate to improve the life of someone in Africa, please swing by Lend Lease, Barangaroo in the Sydney CBD. Via Club Mumble.

Sydney Rides
I'm really loving the design work that's being used to market the Sydney Rides campaign. Well done, whoever you are.

Deus Bali Swap Meet
I've been posting up a lot of photos from various Deus Ex Machina events, but only because they are so prolific, and the photography is always gorgeous. Take these snaps from yesterday's Deus Bali Swap Meet. Looks like everyone had fun! Can't wait to get over there and check out the scene for myself...
It was the Carnevale de Velo at Deus Sydney on Saturday, I only managed to get a few shots of the action as I was chasing the shade while trying to custom paint a pair of B43 rims. I'll try and get them up today... Thanks to Piero and Stefan and Dare and Rod and everyone who helped to make the day another success and heaps of fun!

Single Speed and Fixed Gear Show 'n' Shine at the Beach Road Hotel
As part of Sydney's 2010 Bicycle Film Festival, Chappelli Cycles is hosting a Show 'n' Shine for single speed and fixed gear / track bikes. First prize is, get this, a trip to Japan to watch the 2010 Keirin races. It will be held at the Beach Road Hotel in Bondi to coincide with the City To Surf / Cute Commute, Sunday Screening and Wrap Party. It's going to be a huge day, so it's time to get psyched. Check the Sydney BFF site for extra details, and don't forget to RSVP to the Facebook event!

Potential of Hydrgen
Potential of Hydrogen is a project by Sydney based Sable & Argent, their range of in-house branded frames, made off-shore. More details to come, register for details here. Does leggy module actually ride bicycles? Hmmm...
City Bike Depot shop visit
Hung out with Adam and the boys at City Bike Depot last week for some beers while Ad swapped over the bars on his Salsa La Cruz 'crosser. Always interesting things going on in the workshop!

Alisdair Nicol x Art And About
Check this out, walked past it the other night in Martin Place: a 12 meter high penny farthing made out of recycled bikes. By Alisdair Nicol, part of Sydney's Art And About project.

Sydney Cycleways shared bike path graphics
It's great to see the continual improvements being made to Sydney's bicycle infrastructure, but these new shared path graphics have me stumped. 'Caution: Adults and children falling through giant rollers'??? I have offered my graphic design services to Sydney Cycleways on a gratis basis...
Here's something I prepared earlier for City Bike Depot. The CBD Orange is far more spectacular when not shot with a rubbish CyberShot...

Sydney Cycleways Support Rally tonight Town Hall 6pm BE THERE!
Just to prove that Sydney is no slouch when it comes to bicycle advocacy, at 6.00pm tonight at Town Hall there will be a rally to support the City of Sydney's Cycleways program. Unfortunately, Sydney is an anomaly when it comes to bicycle infrastructure. It's very hilly, and the roads were originally created for horses and carts – very narrow and lack the ability to be modified to cater for a cycle lane. Which is one of the reasons talkback radio host Alan Jones's nose is out of joint. He is simultaneously conducting a rally at Town Hall at 6.00pm to block the Sydney Cycleways project. Have a look at 2GB's website for an idea of what Sydney Cyclists are up against. I'm sure there'll be heated debate and lots of flashing lights and florescent yellow but it's important to be present and demonstrate that we are not a minority group. What Sydney really needs is education, in order to raise bicycle access to the level of other international cities... like Melbourne. Here's the Facebook page for the event!

You can also show your support by grabbing one of these shirts at the Three Point Turnz online shop! Thanks for the tip Candy Cranks!
