How you find 'em

Hangin' out with my friend Sara on Sunday down at Bondi and we dropped by one of her mate's houses and in the foyer was this gorgeous Ricardo townie, in excellent condition. Apart from being all-steel (real) and living by the beach – thus being exposed to the corrosive damage posed by the salty air. Paint immaculate. Decals not-so-bad... All original, however, rack and stand intact! Stock white cable housing?

I've a soft spot for Ricardos, owned a couple in my time, albeit one model, an Elite. But I can vouch for their sturdy, South Australian heritage, constructed from quality gas pipe tubing, and the logo on this townie especially gets me, the bird (which is a cross between a magpie and a black swan?) doing yoga on his perch. Love it. Owner won't sell. Although I hope he upgrades his lock. Undoing those combination locks was a trick learnt in primary school where I came from. A skill only to be used in emergencies, nowadays...
