Stevie Gee does Deus Bali

Stevie Gee is one of my favourite modern artists, and after teaming up with one of my favourite magazines, Sideburn, he's now hooked up with one of my favourite international motorcycle conglomerates, Deus Ex Machina, for a solo show at their Bali outpost. Their blog shows some great shots of the man in action. How I wish I could make it along!

Happy birthday, Steve Caballero!

Wearing my Bones Brigade shirt in honour, that's him at the Crab Shack signing my OG Cab Street deck with his favourite bible quote, Hebrews 12:2...

Happy birthday Steve! Keep skating for fun!

Lights on the stones on backed-up drain

Hand built one of a kind birdhouse was made for the Board Rescue Urban Outfitters window display by Judi Oyama, old school skate legend! This one is for a fund raiser and only available through this auction. This is currently hanging in the window display at the Downtown Santa Cruz Urban Outfitters until July 31st when this auction ends and we will be shipping all paypal paid final auctions. Boards in the background are not part of this sale, these are images from the window display. More on her flickr!
That's Steve Caballero on the deck at 14 years old!

I feel the earth move under my feet, I feel the sky tumbling down

Let me just get my Santa Cruz post fix outta the way... Been looking at which wheels and trucks I should sort my Salba out with, and stumbled across the Santa Cruz/NHS site, which actually had the set-up I'm after then and there. The Indys were a no-brainer, but I'm still tossing up between the yellow and pink Bullets. Having said that, I've come across some NOS Slime Balls in Blue and OJIIs in a baby blue also. Choices...

I see you on the street and you walk on by

Santa Cruz's latest deck, the Tuck 'n' Rolla Cruzer. Art by Jimbo Phillips, padded metal flake vinyl top. Yeah! Luxe Exterior! Trawler Rider!

Aha shake bury your eyes in a secret place

Found these on Ryan's blog >You Have Broken The Internet<, not sure whose collection it is but they would be very happy with this lot, especially the Gonz decks. Even the Variflex decks... My first 'serious' plank was a Variflex Tony Hallam.

I must admit I felt a little uneasy when she bent to tie the lace on my shoe

Exactly what I am looking for in a skateboard or a surfboard. Buddy Carr Skateboards. Subtle graphics, matching ephemera and clean packaging. Head over to the website and check out the Hello deck and shirt while you're there, too. Inspirational! Designed by the mutli-talented NY designer Antonio Carusone. Spotted on my new favourite blog: ECYCLISTA.
