Across the north and south, to Key Largo, love for sale
Caught up with fellow Cannonball Runner Messrs Stefan Wig the Deus Ex Machina Swap Meet, and we had a brief chat about my upcoming incursion into the surf and the state of the counter culture. As it turns out, he is a card holding member of the Gentleman's Surf Club. As the editor of The Sugarmill so eloquently puts it, this is NOT about doing sit down wees. Find out for yourself what it's really about...

Coolin on the scene like a horse in a stable
Surf photography with a difference, Matt Johnson's The Sea Life will deliver to your inbox daily a series of images portraying the ever-changing beauty that is Cronulla Beach. My favourite beach in the world (after Whaley). He's also one of the most talented wedding shooters out there as well. Head over to The Sea Life to subscribe and have a look at his blog for the wedding portfolio!

Now the neighborhood's cracked and torn, the kids are grown up but their lives are worn
Nice shooting over on the Mild Manners blog of Venice Be-atch. One day I'll make a pilgrimage over there!

I'm gonna knock with the jungle boogie
We were graced by the presence of a very talented Tasmanian artist in the studio last week called Dane, and after he mentioned he was a surfer as well we had even more to talk about. We discussed a common interest in painting our own skate and surf boards, and today he sent me a link to Sea Surfboards in Byron Bay. Sea Surfboards is a group of artists and shapers who are creating some very inspiring designs and combining their craft with providing an outlet for their artists to exhibit. I love the piece above by Ozzy Wright, especially since Sydney hasn't had a dry day in what feels like weeks... Thanks Dane!

You see, he feels like Ivan, born under the Brixton sun
How we roll in The Shire: The boys had to scope long and hard for any decent waves yesterday, the surf was flat as a tack. Cronulla Historical Archives, muddy streets...

But have you heard about the Great Crusade? We ran into millions, and nobody got paid
Very exciting. Deus Ex Machina are beginning to output some foam, looks like Dare can't completely leave behind his surf roots. Who can? Full revolution! Life moves both in cycles AND waves, apparently! From the Deus Facebook page... make friends!

One baby to another says I'm lucky to have met you
How we roll in The Shire: Even when it's a grey old day there's always something to do around Cronulla. The weather doesn't stop the grommets from their surf contest and there's always cover under the brollies at the cafes on the beach. Perfect time for a VB and a sauv blanc. How about this little dude who bolted on some trucks onto the bottom of his plank for when the surf's REALLY flat! How it all started, really...
