Cy Twombly
I am such an ignoramus that I never knew of Cy Twombly until everyone started posting RIP messages. I really gotta start opening my eyes. Thanks Cy, RIP.

Sydney Cycleways shared bike path graphics
It's great to see the continual improvements being made to Sydney's bicycle infrastructure, but these new shared path graphics have me stumped. 'Caution: Adults and children falling through giant rollers'??? I have offered my graphic design services to Sydney Cycleways on a gratis basis...
Here's something I prepared earlier for City Bike Depot. The CBD Orange is far more spectacular when not shot with a rubbish CyberShot...

How we roll in Amsterdam
I'm all for Dutch work bikes, they are the worlds longest lasting, utilitarian, subtly stylish (due to the perfect combination of form and function) bicycles. But zoom in on the top pic, shot by the Mild Manners crew on a recent trip to Amsterdam... what's up with that saddle?

Never stepped on the cracks 'cause i thought i'd hurt my mother
Wandered through May Lane on Saturday, just to see what's new. May Lane's a little backstreet in St Peters and it's bit of a Graffiti Hall of Fame. Sure enough, there's always new work by local crew Big City Freaks. A couple of them were actually putting up while I was there, I'm always blown away by the skill and technique of experienced street artists like these guys. Nice piece by Phibske there, too.

You got the money, I got the soul
Got a sweet peek at the Mike Giant X Sable & Argent whip at The Galleries, pretty impressive. That's a whole lotta Giant One tags, right there. Give the guys at Sable & Argent a call for more info... Thanks Ben @ Graniph for the shots!

Get this bus in top gear, get me out of here
Fafi is one of my all-time favourite artists/designers simply for her prolific work and her collaborations with adidas. So if any local brats start hanging around her fierce bike with covetous eyes, I wouldn't hesitate to take 'em down! Lucky Fafi is fierce enough herself to see them off! Check out more of her stories on her blog!

You're the pretender, what if I say that I'll never surrender

For me, to see a custom painted Pegoretti in the steel would be akin to visiting the Sistine Chapel. This is one of my favourite works by Dario yet. He contributed his artistic skills to a titanium frame by Darren Mark Crisp, a very talented builder who resides in Tuscany, Italy. Darren specialises in ultra specific custom ti frames, and places strong emphasis on the importance of 'Knowing Your Builder'. If you're after a supremely high quality custom ti frame, get to know him. Check out some more of his frames on his website and his flickr. Via orme.tv ...well worth checking out too!

I'm gonna knock with the jungle boogie
We were graced by the presence of a very talented Tasmanian artist in the studio last week called Dane, and after he mentioned he was a surfer as well we had even more to talk about. We discussed a common interest in painting our own skate and surf boards, and today he sent me a link to Sea Surfboards in Byron Bay. Sea Surfboards is a group of artists and shapers who are creating some very inspiring designs and combining their craft with providing an outlet for their artists to exhibit. I love the piece above by Ozzy Wright, especially since Sydney hasn't had a dry day in what feels like weeks... Thanks Dane!

I'm going red and my tongue's getting tied
Great design and photography by Kinfolk and Trackosaurus Rex. This is the frame Kinfolk created for the Nike Tied Together Project, with paint by graf artist Tazroc. Supremely wicked, well done everyone involved. We'll file this under: Inspiration as well! Great shots Kyle!
