I'm gonna knock with the jungle boogie

We were graced by the presence of a very talented Tasmanian artist in the studio last week called Dane, and after he mentioned he was a surfer as well we had even more to talk about. We discussed a common interest in painting our own skate and surf boards, and today he sent me a link to Sea Surfboards in Byron Bay. Sea Surfboards is a group of artists and shapers who are creating some very inspiring designs and combining their craft with providing an outlet for their artists to exhibit. I love the piece above by Ozzy Wright, especially since Sydney hasn't had a dry day in what feels like weeks... Thanks Dane!

Paddledogs do Bass Straight

My cousin Paul (that's him in the yellow) is kayaking from Melbourne to Tasmania to raise awareness and fund the Black Dog Institute’s Bipolar Disorder research program. Bipolar Disorder affects between 3 – 5% of the global population. It creates mayhem in people’s lives regardless of age, gender or ethnicity, and is believed to be the 3rd leading cause of death among people aged 15 – 24. I cannot begin to fathom this great task and wish all of the Paddledogs safe traveling mercies and bon voyage! Feel free to make a donation here and be sure to follow up on their journey at the Paddledog's website.

The Motorcyclists Handbook by David Minton

Picked this up in Tassie in some old bookshop when I was down there last, Pan Books 'The Motorcyclists Handbook' by David Minton. Very informative and in a PVC cover with spot foil ink, so you can easily wipe the grease stains off. Thought the Sideburn lads might find the page on flat track racing interesting.

Tour Tasmania by Motorcycle

Please do. God created motorcycles, then he created Tasmania. Wes, take some time off, we'll get some bikes and we'll make the Long Way Down Under! Thanks Bear!
