Pony Bikes vs the ACCC
My best mate Sasha runs the best little bike shop in Melbourne, Pony Bikes. She and Fyxomatosis Andy were interviewed recently by The Age to comment on the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission's intent to fine bike shops for selling fixed gear bikes without back brakes. read the whole article here... Yet another attempt by the man to sterilise free thinking and de-sensitise our society.

They got two for one at the store on the corner
Another fine gem to come out of the Pony Bikes stable. Sasha built this up for Radar's girlfriend... that's kudos for months bro! Fresh pink powder and pink Ourys, lovely! Be great to see the Brooks Ladies saddle on there, but that's just my personal leather fetish coming through... Nice one Sasha! She has a few more step-throughs in stock so if you want to get out of washing up duties for a bit get in and have a chat with her! More pics soon... Keep an eye on her blog!

I've been searching for just a little more but the days girl just slip away
Shawn's Affinity Lo-Pro built up by Sasha of Pony Bikes. Really came together well, one of the best looking whips that have come out of the Pony Bikes stables. White pursuit frame complemented by a healthy mix of white, gold and leather components. See the bike in it's full glory on the Pony Bikes blog!

Everybody keeps on talking about it, nobody's getting it done
Lord knows I've always had a thing for slender Italians, so it's no surprise that I experienced a slight tension and tingle when Fyxomatosis Andy posted these pics as a teaser of the red Pinarello he and Dan from Shifterbikes have recently built up to their usual high level of quality. Head over to Fyx TV and scope it out, well worth it. And if that got your blood and desire levels up, Pony Bikes has a blue Pinny in immaculate condition built up as a single speed which is up for sale at the amazing price of AU$800. If you're in Melbourne, drop into Sasha's shop at 87 Capel Street or check out the other photos on her blog! Someone make it your own before my guilty hand drops down my wallet...

Head on one side as you pull, you look almost regal
My bad! Star Trak is actually being organised by Candy Cranks. It's going to be an awesome event, so dig out your velveteen skivvies and get along!

Settle for love I'm never far from home
Found this in one of my old Thrasher mags. Josh Bonner flyin' high at Santa Rosa skatepark. Funny thing is, I used to own this deck, a Powell longboard. Had it set up with Indys and Bullet 66s. Sweet ride. Spent many a lazy arfternoon on it, carving up the sidewalks inbetween Surry Hills and Hyde Park. Sasha from Pony Bikes will remember it. Damn thing got stolen from our house one day by some junkies. Never saw it again, and haven't been able to find out any info on this particular model. Always wanted to get the graphics tattooed on my thigh. See that longboarder hangin' ten, toes on the nose? That's what it's all about, man.

Only you, you cool my desire, oh, oh, oh I’m on fire
This is the latest build from the Pony Bikes stable, and it's my favourite yet. It's up for sale, and it's a bargain if you ask me. SE Draft frame with custom powdercoat and custom build by a mechanic who puts her heart and soul into everything she does. Sasha may be my best mate but I can be objective about what she does as well, we're good like that. And she is one of the few mechanics in this country I would entrust my ride to, and trust that she'll do a top job. Check out the Stormtrooper bike on her BLOG!

A stranger's light comes on slowly
Well, Happy New Year, everybody. Been offline for Christmas and New Year's holidays, and still am, officially. But just wanted to thank you all for reading over the past year. I've made new friends and had good conversations with people who I never would've met before if DoubleOhTwo wasn't online.
Hope you all have a great ride through 2010. Keep rubber side down and remember: Ride Joyous! See you in a couple of weeks.
BTW, did you know New Years 2010 is a Blue Moon? It's when their are two full moons in a month which only happens every 2–3 years. Which is another cycle, I guess, so it's all relevant...

I've been doing it for years, my goal is moving near
Spent a couple of days cruising Melbourne with my best mate Sasha from Pony Bikes. The scene in Melburn never ceases to amaze me, it's out of control. Here's another fine build from the Pony Bikes stables, a sweet Cinelli Mystic Rats. Check out the rest of the pics on her BLOG! Give Sasha a holla for all your bike needs, custom builds a specialty!
