Fafi is one of my all-time favourite artists/designers simply for her prolific work and her collaborations with adidas. Well, this is the most exciting news I've had in a while! A collaboration between Brooks, manufacturers of fine leather saddles and accessories and Vans sneakers... Via Trackosaurus Rex! And I will wait with great anticipation for more details!

What a great day! Deus had a vintage surf and skate swap meet and, as usual, it was legendary stuff, on a perfect Sydney summer day. Met the art director of Mambo who was in residence during the glory days of the late 80's, early 90's. So he would've been the boss man when I did work experience at Mambo in 1990, which was Year 10 at high school in Australia. I apologised for fucking up the glue machine while I was there. Had a great chat with him about the surf and art culture that was heavily influenced by Mambo in those days. Being a young kid growing up in the Central West of NSW Mambo was the Holy Grail of street fashion, right up there with Vision Street Wear and Airwalk sneaks. A couple of the prints above I had up on my bedroom walls in Year 9 and Year 10 and were a big influence while I was studying 3 Unit Art during my HSC. I guess that's why I dig Deus so much now, seeing as how Dare Jennings (founder of both Deus and Mambo) has brought the same artistic passion to motorcycles and bicycles as he did to the surf and skate scene.

The trophy that I made for us in fur and gold

Righto. Here's some snaps of the Onitsuka Tiger / Bicycle Film Festival collab I was fortunate enough to be part of. Finally managed to get down to Lucky & Wolf at The Rats Nest gallery in Darlinghurst, work has been hell this last week so I missed the opening which I was mildly bummed about.

Julia Schauenburg and James W Mataitis Bailey have done a magnificent job of curating the show, thanks guys! The sneaker collab was only part of a show called 'Frames', one of the events held in conjunction with the Sydney BFF.

Check out the wheel Plunkett built out of paper clips! Truly a master wheel builder!
