No reason to get excited

The devil, they say, is in the details. And by the looks of things, Rapha has a cosy collection of little evil people sitting around in their lounge. Check out the new Gentleman's Cap, sartorialising iconic fashion houses. Belstaff, for example. It's no secret that the whiff of waxed cotton sends the adventure hairs on my neck standing up, so now this cap is the 'must-have' of this morning. I'm loving the ventilation rivets (just like a Trialmaster), the 'Raph-ised' label, the corduroy brim (just like a Trialmaster) and the enamel pin (just like a Trialmaster). Right-ho, I'm off to Rapha. Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.

Where eagles have been

Favourite stand at Interbike 2009: Brooks! Only because of this magnificent poncho style parka which looks as though it's waxed cotton. Thanks Tracko, good to have you back and hope you had a top time in Japan, looks like everyone did! View the best Interbike 2009 pics on the Orange Twizzle Flickr!

Belstaff Trialmaster

There is nothing that gets my nostrils going more than the smell of waxed cotton. Apart from, say, plenty of things. But waxed cotton is one of them. I developed a healthy Belstaff addiction a while back, and subsequently built up an extensive collection. I'm keeping the Trialmaster jacket (for the moment, depending on the results of these auctions) but I'm moving on my beloved Trialmaster trousers and a spare belt for a Trialmaster jacket. Check out the auction on eBay for the trousers here and the belt here. Belstaff gear continues to go through the roof so here's a chance to pick oneself up a bargain. If you're REALLY keen for a sweet Trialmaster jacket to complete the collection let me know.

Sydney Tweed Ride

Well God will never cease to amaze me. Sydney has organised itself a Tweed Run before the Melburn kids. So you better start getting your kit organised if you don't already run Worsted as a regular part of your wardrobe (what, me Worsted?) because the countdown has begun!!! More inspiration at the Tweed Cycling Club and the Flickr set from London's recent Tweed Run. Come along and join me to reminisce over days of yore when cyclewear was both functional and fashionable and one could smoke and ride without people giving you greasies.
