Way down where I can be free
I've always had a thing for calligraphy – the Way of the Brush, and I really have to thank John Prolly for the heads up on these. The kanji on these stickers reads 'Self Moving Vehicle' which is entirely appropriate! Yumi Kitade is the brush master who created this piece, and The Mission Bicycle Shop is selling them for $5.00 a pop. Well worth it, to bring bring some positive feng shui to your ride.

I pray for you most every day, my love's with you, now fly away
More killer work from the Death Spray Custom kitchen. I'm constantly impressed and inspired by the high level of quality that DSC continues to produce. This collaboration between Feather Cycles, Baby Crow and the Nike: Tied Together Project is superb, and should be drool-worthy of the hardcore Akira fans out there.

But she was young and dumb, she'd just turned 21
Death Spray Custom found this great poster of the Japanese release of BMX Bandits! Rad! Still believe this was Nicole's finest performance.

Make up her name, making it up so you'll leave my brain
WANT: These aero bars spotted on the JINKEN Bicycle Product blog. Leather weave wrap, guaranteed to permanently leave the pattern imprinted on your palms after a time trial but for the leather fetish factor... PRICELESS!

And I bellowed at the firmament
Posting this up 'cause I love samurai Karate Monkey! And 'cause he'd look especially special in the Wajima helmets I posted earlier...! Thanks Milano Fixed!

Anything I wanted to know, any place I needed to go
I have a very good friend studying at St Martins in London, specialising in Japanese Lacquer techniques, so I was especially excited to see these helmets decorated in the Wajima-nuri style on Trackosaurus Rex. They make such a refreshing change to champion rainbows and primary colours... My friend Eve will love these!

Slow cheetah come, it's so euphoric, no matter what they say
Crank's genuine leather straps are the second product I've seen this week that got me really excited, the first was Mufa Wear's leather accessory range dropped by Pedal Consumption the other day. I'm not a vegetarian, and some of my best friends are vegans, I just love well made leather goods. These could nicely match your Brooks leather bar tape on your classy Italian or British whip, especially if you step out with that mink stole...

While your feet are stompin', and the jam is pumpin'
A logo-less alternative to the leather Knog cycling gloves, these magnificent examples from Japanese manufacturer Caca-Zan. Here's a rough Google translation, well worth checking out! Maybe a pair of the Special Effects would be more attractive to some riders out there? Thanks to BIKEexif for the tip! Mucho gracias!

Fell the dark night, and no starlight to light the room
Three dimensional calligraphy, heat and steel. Even if you can't read Japanese, have a browse through the framebuilders website, incredible stuff. And if anyone can, I'd love to hear more about this builder! Tetz-One frame and fork. Check out the rest of the pics on "84's" Flickr stream, and the 84 BLOG!

Hush, baby baby baby baby baby...

Meg and Tarn have just uploaded their pics from one of the most incredible tandem bicycle journeys EVER, concluding with the Worlds in Tokyo. On, may I add, the most incredible tandem bicycle EVER, handbuilt by Tarn (the man behind Primate Frames) himself. Do yourself a favor, check out the Candy Cranks Flickr and get inspired. What are YOU gonna do this summer?

Someday I'll be Saturday night

Yogi's putting up his pics from Kyoto Loco on Facebook, and I'm very jealous. Jealous of being there, riding around with great people and walking up temple steps. Yogi, you're my hero.

I like to dream yes, yes, right between my sound machine

Well, this has pretty much made my day. Kalavinka x adidas colab, and not a vinyl toy to be seen! Spotted on the streets during the Tokyo CMWC 2009. Seen on q+L+.p's Flickr stream! And new pics from Milano Fixed!

It's not a case of aiming to please

It's been exciting (and frustrating!) to see some pics of the 2009 Tokyo Cycle Messenger World Champs starting to filter through the blogs, looks like everyone's having a great time so far! Spotted Yogi, Skin Grows Back Jim, Pommy Chris and here's Fyxomatosis Andy hanging out with Prolly is Not Probably John. Check out Prolly's Flickr for his Japan Trip pics. Can't wait to get to Tokyo myself, period, but seriously wish I was there this week! No sign yet of Candy Cranks Meg, Primate Frames Tarn and The Wasp...
