I pray for you most every day, my love's with you, now fly away
More killer work from the Death Spray Custom kitchen. I'm constantly impressed and inspired by the high level of quality that DSC continues to produce. This collaboration between Feather Cycles, Baby Crow and the Nike: Tied Together Project is superb, and should be drool-worthy of the hardcore Akira fans out there.

Never seems to climb inside, walk in through my open eyes
I'm having a little difficulty comprehending what I'm seeing here. These are the creations of artist Brandon Shigeta for the Harvest show at PLSMIS Gallery in Tokyo. All pieces are created from recycled skate decks, producing a vibrant laminated effect. See more of the images on his flickr and Brandon's blog! Via BeginBeing!

Rock and Roller cola wars, I can't take it anymore
Motoyan is one of my favourite photographers and I greatly look forward to his posts as they are a valuable and inexhaustive insight into Tokyo biker culture. Have a look at his blog No Future Tokyo! Never mind the only slightly effective D-lock technique on this Puch Murray cruiser, what an immaculate example of a rare and obscure marque. Check out the thruster style dropouts, a feature of the brand's frames. Thanks Motoyan!

Leave your make-up on and I'll leave on the light
Death Spray Custom never ceases to amaze me with their immaculate paint and strategic collaborations. This time they've teamed up with Tokyo Fixed Gear and Dolan Bikes to produce a work of artistic ridability. Man oh man. Nice work, people!

Hush, baby baby baby baby baby...

Meg and Tarn have just uploaded their pics from one of the most incredible tandem bicycle journeys EVER, concluding with the Worlds in Tokyo. On, may I add, the most incredible tandem bicycle EVER, handbuilt by Tarn (the man behind Primate Frames) himself. Do yourself a favor, check out the Candy Cranks Flickr and get inspired. What are YOU gonna do this summer?

Someday I'll be Saturday night

Yogi's putting up his pics from Kyoto Loco on Facebook, and I'm very jealous. Jealous of being there, riding around with great people and walking up temple steps. Yogi, you're my hero.

I like to dream yes, yes, right between my sound machine

Well, this has pretty much made my day. Kalavinka x adidas colab, and not a vinyl toy to be seen! Spotted on the streets during the Tokyo CMWC 2009. Seen on q+L+.p's Flickr stream! And new pics from Milano Fixed!

It's not a case of aiming to please

It's been exciting (and frustrating!) to see some pics of the 2009 Tokyo Cycle Messenger World Champs starting to filter through the blogs, looks like everyone's having a great time so far! Spotted Yogi, Skin Grows Back Jim, Pommy Chris and here's Fyxomatosis Andy hanging out with Prolly is Not Probably John. Check out Prolly's Flickr for his Japan Trip pics. Can't wait to get to Tokyo myself, period, but seriously wish I was there this week! No sign yet of Candy Cranks Meg, Primate Frames Tarn and The Wasp...

In the sleepy west of the woody east

Konichiwa indeed. Check this out, the first post by the intrepid Meg and Tarn, of Candy Cranks and Primate Frames fame, embarking on their 4 week tandem tour of Japan. Let the wanderlust begin!

He believes in a beauty

This is one of the greatest posts in the history of man and bicycles. Not mine, but Shinya's. This is Shinya Kimura, of Chabott Engineering fame, a legend in the motorcycle customising and engineering world. As it turns out, he was an avid bicyclist as a youth, even racing a bit of Keirin. But check out the beautiful sketch he did of his early race bike. True art, equals bike, equals art. Once again. Thankyou Shinya!

One for the trouble, two for the time

Motoyan's photographic documentary of Tokyo and his work as a messenger and motorcyclist is as prolific as cherry blossoms, and the images he provides give me continual inspiration to get to Tokyo and experience all of the sights for for myself. Especially on a bicycle or motorcycle! I especially love bikes with skate stickers on them! Thank you Motoyan! NO FUTURE TOKYO!!!
