Single Speed and Fixed Gear Show 'n' Shine at the Beach Road Hotel
As part of Sydney's 2010 Bicycle Film Festival, Chappelli Cycles is hosting a Show 'n' Shine for single speed and fixed gear / track bikes. First prize is, get this, a trip to Japan to watch the 2010 Keirin races. It will be held at the Beach Road Hotel in Bondi to coincide with the City To Surf / Cute Commute, Sunday Screening and Wrap Party. It's going to be a huge day, so it's time to get psyched. Check the Sydney BFF site for extra details, and don't forget to RSVP to the Facebook event!

Cycle EXIF
You may have noticed posts have been a bit sparse around here for the last couple of weeks. That's because I've been flat chat setting up a new blog called Cycle EXIF, which went live this week. Cycle EXIF is the pedal powered version of Bike EXIF, which is one of the most incredible collections of inspired motorcycles. The aim of Cycle EXIF is to profile the best of custom, classic bikes and design icons, captured by great photography. You'll see bikes of all genre, from fixed gear freestyle bikes to vintage roadies, to downhill bikes, BMX, MTB, cyclocross bikes and even the odd conversion. There'll be a different bike six days a week. Needless to say, if you've got a bike that you think would be a suitable contribution, and have some great photos of it, feel free to get in contact. Head on over and have a look, we're on Facebook too. If you like bicycles, you'll love Cycle EXIF.

Don't wanna see you again or hold your hand

Another fun day was had by all at the 5th Deus Ex Machina Bicycle Swap Meet on Saturday. Plenty of eye candy everywhere and some real bargains to be had. It's positive to see our vibrant community so well represented at the Swap Meets, the Sydney culture is aliove and well! Can't wait to see Carby's shots of the day...

Send a sub-sonic signal through the snot in the middle
CAme across these incredible creations on the L'Ecurie blog... Amazing! Especially like the Gulf themed bike, and the 'Nago's not half bad neither! Just trying to come up with some more info on the gig. Anyone?
EDIT: Thanks Scorch for leaving a comment yesterday, these are Pride Kustoms entries for the First International Custom Bikes Convention, held in Kiev. More info on the convention here and also check out Pride's website here! Cheers Scorch!

So it's hard to find someone with that kind of intensity
All right! The 5th Deus Bicycle Swap Meet is on! Just booked my stall, will be moving on a stash of old Campy bits 'n' bobs, couple of old frames. Give Piero a call to book a stall or drop in for some haggling! Going to be another great day, the Deus Swap Meets always are, can't wait! See you there... Saturday July 24th!

The summer days are gone too soon, you shoot the moon
Lovely long weekend back in Orange, max temperature of 7 degrees but sunny, divine weather. Headed out to Canowindra on Sunday which is a tiny country town that is realising that it doesn't have to keep up with the larger rural centres and instead focus on maintaining its cultural heritage to attract the tourist dollar. Some nice cafés, boutiques profiling local designers, renovated pubs for lunch and accommodation etc. All make up for a delightful weekend away from the city.
This lovingly restored Speedwell was parked outside the Bendy Street Emporium, looking a treat. Some nice pinstriping going on there, even on the rims!

The field and therein will be filled with jubilation
The Wrench Monkees are one of Europe's hottest motorcycle custom shops right now. Located in Copenhagen, Denmark, they produce some very eclectic and mashed up bikes, and their bicycles are completely in line with their aesthetic. Check out their showroom!

My veins are the tracks, the city is my brain
This is Mitja, an ex-Teddy Boy who got that tattoo of Bill Haley when he was 13. That's his chopper, which he rode 230km last year to a show in Sweden. Hardcore Mitja! Thanks Full-Frokkul-Fiasco!
