Way down where I can be free

When Juliet can post some new photos of the new Charge line of clothing, Surface, I will be even more impressed than I am right now. Surely Charge is leading the way as far as bicycle manufacturers go. Taking off where Cannondale left off and leaving Giant and Trek sittin' in the dust, Charge has their finger on the pulse when it comes to the fashionable requirements of the next generation of riders. As soon as they add 'Corp' to their name, however, I'll switch off...

Hush, baby baby baby baby baby...

Meg and Tarn have just uploaded their pics from one of the most incredible tandem bicycle journeys EVER, concluding with the Worlds in Tokyo. On, may I add, the most incredible tandem bicycle EVER, handbuilt by Tarn (the man behind Primate Frames) himself. Do yourself a favor, check out the Candy Cranks Flickr and get inspired. What are YOU gonna do this summer?

If I only had a dollar, for every song I've sung...

Here's a couple of immaculate rides from Tour de Ville, an LBS in Hackney, London, Gorgeous GIOS and King Koga Miyata... Found 'em while looking up the fantastic work by Stevie Gee, who is collaborating with Tour de Ville and Death Spray Custom on a piece for his exhibition called 'Vengeance is Coming' at Jaguar Shoes. All hail the Crappy Old Ten Speed, for they will inherit what is left after the reign of the Fixed Gear...

Oh, I miss the kiss of treachery

Loving this new Crownfarmer Tee by Todd Bratrud. Here's to big skids! Get it over on the Crownfarmer shop. Although I'm still trying to work out the significance of a squid doing skids... Oh wait. I get it now... Thanks Kitsune Noir!

Someday I'll be Saturday night

Yogi's putting up his pics from Kyoto Loco on Facebook, and I'm very jealous. Jealous of being there, riding around with great people and walking up temple steps. Yogi, you're my hero.

Why deny the obvious, child?

Oh wow! What do I have to do to get me one of these??? Victorinox x Wallpaper knives! Well, I guess I have to get to the store on Bond Street. Via Creative Review!

Where eagles have been

Favourite stand at Interbike 2009: Brooks! Only because of this magnificent poncho style parka which looks as though it's waxed cotton. Thanks Tracko, good to have you back and hope you had a top time in Japan, looks like everyone did! View the best Interbike 2009 pics on the Orange Twizzle Flickr!

You can always count on me

Fafi x KWEENZ DESTROY. Check it! Via Design You Trust!

Number one with a bullet, baby

Okay, so I'm building up the Conti as a single speed, ENO rear hub, Phil Wood BB and everything else Campy. Rosso corsa Deep Vs, and a Selle Italia Novus Ferrari saddle. So all red and polished chrome. Now what to do about the upholstery: I'm thinking 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California, straight outta Ferris. I'd like to run aero Campy levers with white hoods which'd go nicely with the honey Brooks tape... But my previous experience with the honey is that it tends to fade over time and turn very blonde. Thanks Fyxomatosis! Comments welcome!

Sell me out, and frame your name

Why I dig Rapha. From Bike Jerks Flickr, and some shots of Interbike 2009. There's a Shifterbikes logo too!

Well done Cadel!

Bloody good job, Cadel. Photo: Reuters

License, registration, I ain't got none

Thanks to Joe and the lads at City Bike Depot and a last minute wheelbuild on a Friday night, I finally got the Lady Cop back on the road. Been riding the moto everywhere for the past few weeks but it, like me, hates being stuck in traffic. So good to be moving again. Built it up this morning and took her for a shakedown ride over to Newtown this arvo. Unreal. Like I got my mojo back. Riding a bike just feels like you're part of the rhythm of the streets, of the environment.

That there's the pothole that damn near killed me. Keep an eye out for it, if yer riding east along Cleveland past South Dowling. Keep an eye out for my axle, too. Snapped clean off and no sign of it no whar!

True love on King Street

How sweet it is.
"Let's go get some sushi."
"OK, after that, you wanna go grab a Coopers and sit in the park?"
"I'd be down with that."

I saw her standin on her front lawn just twirlin her baton

Happy birthday Boss, for the 23rd. Thanks for the good times. And the bad.

As soon as the boat was clear of the bar

This is a beautiful concept: Gillian Wearing's Five of Hearts and Kyle Cooper's Seven of Spades for Leo Burnett's House of Cards campaign for Shelter, a homeless charity based in the UK. Check out some of the other works by the commissioned artists which include Neville Brody and the full lowdown on Creative Review's blog.

You took the silver, you took the gold

Buggin' out at this Selle Italia Novus (Ferrari) saddle up on eBay at the moment. Although the Contessa is more of a Ducati than a Ferrari, I'm not about to stick a Ducati saddle on her. Been doing a little bit of research on these saddles and they seem to have a bit of a cult following, due to their design and comfort..?

We have some fabulous live music later on but right now here's the kind I prefer

Pony Bikes is beginning a series of movie nights on the first Friday of every month, the first is on next Friday, the 2nd of October. The first screening is PEDAL, a documentary film by Peter Sutherland. It is a moving expose about the lives of New York's bicycle messengers. It is inspiring to watch. Pony Bikes Movie Nights is destined to be a great event, and hopefully it will also provide the inspiration for a similar event in Sydney! Starting at 7pm, at Pony Bikes, located at 87 Capel Street, West Melbourne. Free entry, drinks available, apparently. Come and chill!

We could stay here, and then those dreams, they wash over me

The glory of the Bertelli Sentinella. Loving the subdued tones and the combination of textures, ranging from old leathers to shiny chrome to matte monochromes. Thanks Southsea Fixed Gear Fight Club!

I got a feeling I can't prove, I got a sympathetic noose

Recircle, recycle, resemble me, different levels of the devils company

How awesome are bicycles? Look how much fun they cause! Here's a couple of pics of the Stong Island Summer Bike Ride, that's Strong Island Portsmouth and Southsea, UK. Put it up, get it up and the people will come. Here's cheers to Strong Island for having such a supportive scene. Pics from mattsaxey and Tristan Savage's Flickr streams. Have a look and get inspired to do something like this in your neighborhood. Here's the site for Strong Island itself, you'll see what I'm talking about.

You send me just colours

Here's the new tshirt design for the Sydney Bicycle Messenger Association, kind of what the city looks like from a messenger's perspective. Just one of the colorways, but thank you to all the sydbma crew for asking me to come back and do another shirt for them! Cheers kids. You guys still have the best job in the world, in one of the greatest cities in the world.

Hey you, big star, tell me when it's over

Well this is what Coogee looked like this morning. Thought it was fog until I got into town and realised every mofo in town looked like they hadn't washed themselves or their vehicles for weeks. It's actually dust, blown in from Adelaide on last nights storm. Awesome!

I like to dream yes, yes, right between my sound machine

Well, this has pretty much made my day. Kalavinka x adidas colab, and not a vinyl toy to be seen! Spotted on the streets during the Tokyo CMWC 2009. Seen on q+L+.p's Flickr stream! And new pics from Milano Fixed!

As I glance once upon the foam, 40' beneath my feet

NEXT BAG! R.E. Load's Denim Collection is now available! "Some could easily write off acid and stonewashed denim as relics, one of the many ghosts of far-gone fads that should have never been resurrected..." Not I!
